Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between John Pinaglabanan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Taphorn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, John Pinaglabanan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Peter Taphorn!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Bruno Lombardi and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pinaglabanan attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Taphorn uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Pinaglabanan.
Taphorn is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Pinaglabanan.
Taphorn moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Nice straight punches there by Pinaglabanan. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Pinaglabanan.
Pinaglabanan takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Pinaglabanan avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Pinaglabanan is looking to counter punch.
Pinaglabanan lands with a thumping leg kick.
Taphorn takes one to the side of the head.
Taphorn is looking to slow Pinaglabanan down with leg kicks.
Pinaglabanan connects with an inside leg kick.
Pinaglabanan throws a hook but Taphorn avoids it easily.
John Pinaglabanan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Crunch! Pinaglabanan slams his shin into Taphorn's torso.
Pinaglabanan looks to land a left hand but Taphorn moved out of range nicely.

Taphorn escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pinaglabanan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Pinaglabanan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Pinaglabanan wants to control from the top but Taphorn keeps moving.
Pinaglabanan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Taphorn is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Taphorn is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Pinaglabanan defends it well.

Taphorn wants to free his trapped foot but Pinaglabanan is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Taphorn wants to work for an arm triangle but Pinaglabanan is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Taphorn seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pinaglabanan does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Taphorn.
Pinaglabanan takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Pinaglabanan digs a good hook to Taphorn's body.

and Taphorn counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Pinaglabanan fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Taphorn sprawls well initially but Pinaglabanan persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Taphorn is not content to let Pinaglabanan control the position.

Taphorn is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Pinaglabanan rolls with it to try and escape but Taphorn cranks on the arm and Pinaglabanan is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
