Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnson Calhoun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damian Malenczuk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Damian Malenczuk was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johnson Calhoun!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Damian Malenczuk!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Calhoun keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Calhoun has taken the fight to the clinch.
Malenczuk has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Calhoun tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Malenczuk breaks from the clinch.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Malenczuk.
Calhoun is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Malenczuk not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Calhoun actively working from the bottom here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Calhoun flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Calhoun is trying to get back to full guard.
Malenczuk wants to stand up but Calhoun is controlling the position.
Calhoun is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Calhoun is looking to escape.
Malenczuk not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Calhoun blocking the ground and pound attempt from Malenczuk.
Calhoun is trying to maintain the position but Malenczuk is very close to passing his half guard.
Calhoun works his way to full guard. Good work.
Calhoun wants to sweep here but Malenczuk controlling him for the moment.
Calhoun has momentary wrist control but Malenczuk slips an elbow through the middle.
Malenczuk connects with a couple of short punches.
Calhoun wants to stand but Malenczuk is controlling the position.
Malenczuk with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.


Calhoun is rocked!
Calhoun will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Malenczuk scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Oh Calhoun is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Calhoun escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Malenczuk gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Calhoun is breathing heavily.
Calhoun working a defensive guard here.

Malenczuk loads up on a big left hand. Calhoun felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Malenczuk looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Calhoun can't hide his disappointment, as Malenczuk celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Damian Malenczuk!
Damian Malenczuk was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
