The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones misses with a double jab.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jones tries to get to full guard but Silva has control of the leg.

Silva is looking to advance position but Jones won't allow it.
Silva prevents Jones from improving his position.
Silva wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Silva.

Silva feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Silva postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jones is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Silva, into his guard.

Jones seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Jones throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Jones gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
