Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luther Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Aspirator (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Luther Mason!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Aspirator!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Dillan Fox and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Aspirator fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mason sprawls well initially but Aspirator persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Mason is refusing to be controlled, as Aspirator sits in half guard.
Mason is trying to stand back up but Aspirator is controlling him
Mason tries to get to full guard but Aspirator has control of the leg.
Aspirator looks to land a strike but Mason avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Aspirator trying to control the position from guard on top but Mason is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Aspirator looking to sit in guard and control but Mason gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Mason seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Aspirator for as long as he can get away with.
Aspirator wants to sweep here but Mason controlling him for the moment.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Mason distracts Aspirator with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Mason is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Aspirator has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mason can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Aspirator wants to sweep but no luck.
Mason engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Mason has taken the fight to the clinch.

Aspirator jumps guard but Mason stands there with Aspirator around his waist. Aspirator gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Mason content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Mason pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Aspirator tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Mason defends well and Aspirator ends up having to push Mason into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

It looks like Luther Mason has been cut.
Mason keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Mason was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Luther Mason has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Aspirator.
Aspirator shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mason pinned against the cage. Mason gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Mason drives through and clinches with Aspirator against the cage.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Mason works on Aspirator's body with a couple of short punches.

Mason pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Aspirator shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mason defends it nicely.

Mason clinches up with Aspirator and pushes him back against the cage.

Mason's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Aspirator shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mason sprawls well. Mason wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Aspirator gets slowly back to his feet.

Aspirator shoots in but no luck this time.
Mason is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Aspirator can do to turn this around?
Aspirator shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mason as he jumps to the side.

Mason closes the distance and clinches.

Mason jumps into guard, dragging Aspirator to the mat.
Mason wants to stand and escape but Aspirator is having none of it.
Mason wants to sweep here but Aspirator controlling him for the moment.
Mason wants to get back to his feet but Aspirator is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mason is on top in guard.

Aspirator tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mason swivels and escapes.
Mason throwing a counter right hand but Aspirator manages to avoid it.
Aspirator dives in for a single leg takedown but Mason sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Aspirator shoots in looking for a takedown. Mason tries to sprawl out of it but Aspirator keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mason manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Luther Mason has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Aspirator.

Mason rushes Aspirator and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Come on Mason - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Mason tries to close the distance and clinch up but Aspirator swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Aspirator shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mason pinned against the cage. Mason gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Aspirator takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Mason tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Aspirator paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Aspirator swings and misses with a hook to the body.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Aspirator lands a takedown into guard.
Aspirator in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Mason bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Aspirator's guard.

Mason controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Mason has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Aspirator looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Mason sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Aspirator is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Aspirator can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mason controls the pace.
Luther Mason overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Mason.
Mason works over Aspirator with some ground and pound from guard.

Aspirator manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mason manages to get himself to full guard.


Aspirator drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mason looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mason looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mason!

Mason lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Aspirator down.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
