Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Drake Dusk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zhengtao Wei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Drake Dusk is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wei fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Dusk on the side of the head.

It looks like Drake Dusk has been cut.
Dusk swings for the body but Wei moves out of range.
Wei is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Dusk with a body shot.
Wei lands with a kick to the ribs.
A looping hook to the body misses from Wei. Dusk does a little dance to reset his feet.
Wei lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Wei closes the distance and clinches up with Dusk, looking for a takedown. Wei pushes Dusk against the cage but Dusk circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Dusk throws a looping overhand right but Wei ducks down to avoid it.
Wei misses the jab.
Dusk swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Wei bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Dusk's head.
Wei looks to throw the jab but Dusk is out of range.
A clash of legs there as Wei blocks the low kick.

and Dusk counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

A little jabbing left from Wei on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Wei misses the shot to the body.
Wei lands a right hook to the body.
Dusk moves out of range of the strikes.
A quick step to the side and Dusk tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Wei throws a poor cross that misses
and Dusk counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Wei, right into the meat.

Dusk has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Bully Busters in the buildup to the fight.
Dusk looks to score with a jab to the body but Wei is just out of range.

and Dusk counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Wei thinking.

Wei throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dusk was covering up waiting for the punch and Wei finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Wei throws an elbow that misses. Dusk uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Wei's guard. Nice move by Dusk!

Wei is looking for a triangle but Dusk pushes his legs off easily.
Wei wants to sweep but no luck.
Wei has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Dusk with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Wei looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Wei is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Dusk lands a couple of digs.
Dusk postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Dusk works over Wei with some ground and pound from guard.
Dusk sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Wei's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dusk seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Wei moves into full guard.
Wei is looking to sweep but instead, Dusk has passed into half guard.
Dusk slips a nice elbow through Wei's hands, connecting with Wei's forehead.
Wei is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dusk lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Zhengtao Wei will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.

Wei will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Wei throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Wei connects with a jab.
Dusk walks forward, straight into a front kick from Wei.

Wei looks to land a right hand but Dusk moved out of range.
Dusk uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wei.
Dusk works Wei's body with a nice hook.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
