Kriel comes to the cage accompanied by Jack Parow & Freshlyground - Army Of One. Willem Kriel had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Willem Kriel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ikuhisa Matsumoto!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Ben Zyskovitsi and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matsumoto feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Kriels jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Matsumoto throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Matsumoto scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Matsumoto ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kriel moves away.
Kriel swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Matsumoto takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Matsumoto misses with a straight left.
Kriel swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Ikuhisa Matsumoto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Matsumoto scores with a hook to the body. Kriel takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kriel takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Nice defenses there by Kriel.
Matsumoto has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Kriel.
Matsumoto cracks a nice hook into Kriel's ribs.

The fighters circle momentarily. Matsumoto darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Matsumoto's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Kriel connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Matsumoto scrambles back to his feet.
Matsumoto connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.


Kriel is rocked!
Kriel slips under a jab.
Oh Kriel is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Matsumoto takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Kriel seems to have got his legs back now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kriel throws a hook but Matsumoto avoids it easily.
Matsumoto lunges at Kriel with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Kriel's hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ikuhisa Matsumoto showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Kriel's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Matsumoto lands a big uppercut and Kriel crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Kriel looks OK. Matsumoto waves Kriel back to his feet!
Matsumoto moves into range and connects with a jab.
Matsumoto drops Kriel with a straight right hand, right on the button! Matsumoto follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ikuhisa Matsumoto!
