Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wilson Price (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antero Vasara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Price comes to the cage accompanied by Fight Song - Rachel Platten. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Antero Vasara!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vasara lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Price circles away quickly and effectively.
Vasara lands an overhand right.
Vasara dips to his left and cracks Price with an uppercut!
Vasara lands a jab to the head.
Vasara circles away from the clinch attempt.
It seemed like Vasara was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Vasara is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Vasara scores with the left hand. Price knows he should have avoided that one.
Price wants to clinch up but Vasara keeps it at a distance.

Vasara connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Vasara throws out a loose jab but Price uses good head movement to avoid it.

Price seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Price rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Vasara moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It looks like Wilson Price has been cut.
Vasara lands a jab to the head.

Price closes the distance and clinches.
A head punch on the inside from Price fails to land.
Price manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Vasara lands a body shot.

Price pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Vasara misses with a straight left.
Price looks to clinch
enabling Vasara to counter with a crisp jab.
Vasara swings for the body but Price moves out of range.

Price rushes Vasara and presses him up against the cage.
Vasara blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Price tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Vasara's elbow.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Price blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Price has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Vasara uses from the top position.
Price is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Vasara trying to control the position from guard on top but Price is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Vasara might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Price haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Price knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vasara on the ground.
Vasara slips nicely into half guard.

Vasara has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vasara has hold of Price's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Price manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Price on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Price tries to get out of the position.
Price wants to hold on but Vasara pushes him away.

Vasara looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Price is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Vasara is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Price has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Price!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Price's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Price might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Vasara is pulling down on Price's head to control his posture.
Vasara looking to hit a scissor sweep but Price is one step ahead there.
Vasara manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Price manages to get himself to full guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Price pulls guard effortlessly.
Vasara looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Price keeping moving, preventing Vasara from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vasara not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Vasara forces his way into half guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Vasara in particular looking to stall.
Price tries to roll over but Vasara keeps him under control.
Vasara seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Price does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Vasara is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Price is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Vasara pulls his head out easily.

Vasara is working for a kimura but Price is defending it quite comfortably.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Price is trying to control but Vasara passes into side control!
Vasara has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
You can see the frustration on Price's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Vasara trying to control the position but Price is working away.
Price is looking to reverse the position.
Vasara controls the position.

Vasara is trying to get an arm triangle but Price is defending well.
Price is trying to improve his position.
Price struggling a bit here.
Price is trying to get back to his feet.

Vasara has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Price is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Vasara yanks on the arm and Price is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Vasara.
