Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Anton Chekhov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergey Keosayan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chekhov comes into the arena with КАТЮШA blaring out of the sound system. Anton Chekhov is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 40 - 15 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anton Chekhov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 15 - 3, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sergey Keosayan!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chekhov swings for the body but Keosayan moves out of range.
Chekhov throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Chekhov has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Keosayan shoots in and bounces Chekhov off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Chekhov avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Keosayan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

My spies in Gym Beam inform me that Keosayan has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Chekhov has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Keosayan is working away from the top position though.

Chekhov is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Keosayan's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Keosayan's back!

Keosayan's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Chekhov connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Keosayan scrambles back to his feet.
