Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Aspen Springfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luciano Maciel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Springfield comes to the cage accompanied by The Traditional Fools - Street Surfin'. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Aspen Springfield!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Luciano Maciel!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Edson Gomes and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Springfield fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Maciel tries to close the distance and clinch up but Springfield swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Springfield half committed to a counter leg kick.
Maciel shoots for a takedown but Springfield saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Springfield - that will leave a mark!
Springfield throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Springfield connects with a solid leg kick.
Maciel takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Springfield lands a high kick!
Springfield cracks Maciel with a right hand to the side of the head.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Springfield.
Maciel is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
As Maciel backs away, Springfield returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Springfield lands a head kick. Maciel smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Maciel chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Springfield can pounce on him.
Aspen Springfield seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Springfield throws out a loose jab but Maciel uses good head movement to avoid it.
Springfield changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Maciel tries to avoid it but Springfield manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Maciel to the ground. Maciel escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Maciel takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Good leg kick by Springfield there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Maciel fails with an attempt to clinch.
Springfield swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Maciel now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Maciel moves away from the strike by Springfield.
Maciel changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Springfield stuffs the takedown.
Springfield misses with the body kick
and Maciel counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Springfield seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Maciel throws a sloppy strike and Springfield has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Maciel is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Springfield!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Aspen Springfield!
