Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between the natural Couture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Hoppus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hoppus is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Dammit. Mark Hoppus is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoppus throws a leg kick but Couture sees it coming and moves out of range.
Couture has closed the distance and engaged Hoppus in a clinch.
A nice left hand lands by Couture.
It looks like Mark Hoppus has been cut.
Hoppus wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

The cut above Mark Hoppus's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Couture could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Couture lands an elbow that stopped Hoppus in his tracks for a moment.
Couture manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Couture seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Couture wants to sweep here but Hoppus controlling him for the moment.

Mark Hoppus's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Couture keeps control of Hoppus as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Couture creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Couture lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Hoppus.

Couture is working Hoppus over against the cage.

Couture has hold of one of Hoppus's legs. Hoppus is fighting the takedown attempt but Couture gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Couture keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Hoppus's head.
Couture might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Couture advances position into side control!
Hoppus wants to get back to his feet but Couture drags him back down.
Couture takes a little break here. Hoppus wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Hoppus is looking to get back to his feet here but Couture is keeping cool and he's managed to take Hoppus's back.

Couture is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Hoppus up.
Good control from Couture.
Couture seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hoppus for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Couture controlling the position well here. Hoppus rolled but Couture kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Couture's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
