Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Stevie West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Thompson's choice of entrance music: The Boys Are Back by Dropkick Murphys. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, William Peck and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson tests West's chin there with a solid looking shot.
West drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
West manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Thompson on his heels. He'll look to pass Thompson's guard now, I'm sure.
West works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Thompson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
West takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Thompson has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
West shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Thompson sprawls well. Thompson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. West gets slowly back to his feet.

Thompson connects with a good right hand that stumbles West. West circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Thompson connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused West some visible discomfort.

West is looking to reverse the position.
West is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Thompson is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Thompson postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. West looks a forlorn figure.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Thompson lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
West is rocked!
Oooooh, big shot lands for Thompson! West is hurt baaadly! Thompson is firing away with more strikes - West is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

After winning the bout, Chris Thompson thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
