Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Abe Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rick Williams!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Leandro Rodrigues and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ward decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ward tries to pass to full mount but Williams defends it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ward looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Williams can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Ward feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

I would just about give that final round to Rick Williams.
