Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Brian Rage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brian Rage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson fails to land the takedown.
Rage stuns Johnson with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Rage shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Rage wants to control but Johnson is keeping him busy.
Rage stops Johnson from getting back to his feet.

Rage is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Still in half guard, Rage seems content to control.
Rage sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Johnson defending well though.
Rage throwing shots but Johnson is blocking nicely.

Rage stands up and beckons Johnson to join him on the feet.

Rage drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Rage decides to stand back up. Rage steps back and let's Johnson get back to his feet.

Rage shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rage showed some decent athleticism there.
Rage is tying to control. Johnson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Rage is working for a submission of some sort.
Rage is breathing heavily.

Rage seems to be working for a kimura but Johnson defends the submission attempt.
Johnson trying to hold on to Rage's head to control him but Rage postures up.

Johnson is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Rage pulls his head out easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rage blocks the strikes from Johnson.
Johnson wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Johnson is refusing to be controlled, as Rage sits in half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Rage circles away from the clinch attempt.
Johnson tries to clinch up but Rage circles away and keeps his distance.
A decent looking cross lands there for Johnson.

Rage scores a takedown into full mount!
Rage avoids the attempt from Johnson to control.

Rage has control of Johnson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Johnson regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Rage moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Johnson has worked his arm free - good work by Johnson!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rage laying and praying for a moment but Johnson takes advantage and regains half guard.
Rage seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Johnson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Johnson is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Rage pulls his head out easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Johnson is looking for a sweep. Rage is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Rage postures up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Johnson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Rage counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Johnson's guard now.
Rage working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Johnson's head.
Rage could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Rage passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Rage moves into full mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brian Rage dominated that round.
That's time! Rage's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Johnson shoots for a double leg takedown but Rage sprawls well. He's pushed Johnson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Johnson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Johnson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Rage closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rage lands in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rage drops back looking for a leg! Johnson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Johnson manages to kick Rage off! Rage jumps back into Johnson's guard.

Rage drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rage jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Johnson looking for a guillotine here but Rage defends easily.

Johnson can't keep his opponent in guard - Rage advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Rage is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Johnson!

Rage swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Johnson is now in Rage's guard. A big mistake from Rage there, giving up the dominant position!

Rage is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Johnson lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Rage looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Rage keeping moving, preventing Johnson from controlling successfully.

Rage is looking for a triangle but Johnson pushes his legs off easily.

Rage controls Johnson momentarily but Johnson frees himself.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Rage shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Johnson pinned against the cage. Johnson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Johnson wants to control from the top but Rage keeps moving.

Rage has his foot on Johnson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Johnson works his way back into a safe position though.

Rage is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Rage is looking for a triangle but Johnson pushes his legs off easily.

Johnson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rage swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jack Johnson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Rage shoots in for a double leg but Johnson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Jack Johnson will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Rage fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Johnson, pushing him back against the cage.

Johnson manages to pull guard.
Johnson controls Rage momentarily but Rage frees himself.
Johnson wants to sweep here but Rage controlling him for the moment.

Rage stands and steps away. Johnson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Rage looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Johnson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Rage closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rage lands in his opponent's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Rage drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Rage seems to have locked his on tight now - Johnson screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Rage, as he picks up the win!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:03 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Brian Rage!
