Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Monroe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Byron Tipton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Monroe comes to the cage accompanied by Deep Ocean - Island drumming. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monroe smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Tipton throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Monroe misses with a wild combination.
Tipton tries a low kick but Monroe avoids it.
Tipton tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Monroe was well out of range. Poor timing from Tipton.

Donk. Tipton catches Monroe right on the button with a cross.
Monroe lands a lovely overhand right.
Monroe stuffs the takedown attempt from Tipton. Tipton gets slowly back to his feet.
Tipton takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Ricky Monroe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tipton goes for a double leg but Monroe avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Monroe continues to drive forward.
Tipton takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

It looks like Byron Tipton has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Tipton moves out of range as Monroe strikes.

Monroe missing with a left hand there. Tipton was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Tipton takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Monroe comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Tipton is still on wobbly legs! Can Monroe finish him?

Tipton shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Tipton seems to have recovered his senses.
Tipton is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Tipton is looking to advance position but Monroe won't allow it.
Tipton has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Monroe bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Monroe got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tipton has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Monroe has managed to get both his arms back between Tipton's legs - danger averted.
Tipton is trying to control the position but Monroe postures up.

Tipton wants to hit a switch here but Monroe passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Tipton there!

Monroe postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Tipton in real trouble here! The ref calls for Tipton to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

A relieved looking Ricky Monroe thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
