Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Michael Tripoli!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Green closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Tripoli comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Tripoli throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Green throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Tripoli counters with a three punch combo that has Green backing up. Green nods at Tripoli to acknowledge the strikes.
Green tries to clinch but Tripoli moves out of range.
Tripoli was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
A clash of legs there as Tripoli blocks the low kick.
Tripoli wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Green throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Tripoli cracks Green with an open hand slap.

Green closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.

Green breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Tripoli.
Green tries to close the distance and clinch but Tripoli swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Tripoli throws a low kick but Green moves out of range easily.

Tripoli lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Tripoli attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Green is looking to clinch.
A solid body kick from Tripoli.
Tripoli lands a leg kick that knocks Green off balance momentarily.

Tripoli fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Green manages to avoid it.

As Green backs away, Tripoli returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Tripoli connects with a good right hand that stumbles Green. Green circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Green moves into the clinch successfully.

Green's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Tripoli tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Green throws a left and a right that both miss
and Tripoli counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Tripoli lands a really nice looking cross but Green seems unphased.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Tripoli, as that shot connected.

Tripoli moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
A nice combination there by Tripoli.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tripoli can't find room to land a body shot as Green controls the action.

Green's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Tripoli scores with a sloppy right hand. Green should have avoided that one.
Green fails with an attempt to clinch.
Tripoli scores with the left hand. Green knows he should have avoided that one.

Green drives through and clinches with Tripoli against the ropes.

Tripoli lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Tripoli bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Green tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tripoli swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Tripoli appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Green misses with a shot to the body
and Tripoli connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Tripoli scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Green doesn't seem bothered though.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Michael Tripoli.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tripoli, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
