Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 34 - 18 - 1, fighting out of New York, Andy Chick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Juan Velasquez!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chick will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Velasquez listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.


It looks like Andy Chick has been cut.
Chick lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Velasquez lands a big head kick that sends Chick tumbling to the mat! Velasquez takes a step backwards and waves Chick back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Chick is rocked!
Andy Chick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Chick lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Velasquez at a distance.
Chick misses the shot to the body.
Velasquez missing with a left hand there. Chick was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
It looked like Chick wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Chick lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.


It looks like Juan Velasquez has been cut.
Chick stuns Velasquez with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Chick throws a body punch but Velasquez moves out of range.
Velasquez moves out of range as Chick strikes.
Velasquez is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
Chick swings widly with a right hand
and Velasquez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Chick throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A little jabbing left from Velasquez on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Chick is looking to chop away at Velasquez's legs.
Chick pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Chick has been working on his boxing with his coaches at ~KT-MMA~ in the buildup to the fight.
A head kick misses from Chick.
Chick misses with a hook
and Velasquez counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Velasquez digs a good body shot into Chick's ribs.
Chick scores with a punch to the head.
Chick throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Chick throws a big shot that misses.
Chick avoids the head kick by Velasquez.
Chick throws a counter high kick but Velasquez was just alert enough to avoid it.
Chick throws a lazy right hand but Velasquez sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Velasquez shapes to counter with a head kick.
Chick connects with a crisp jab.

Velasquez misses with a body shot
letting Chick counter with a right hand.
Velasquez moves in looking to clinch but Chick pushes him off.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Chick pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Velasquez drops Chick with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Chick looks back up at him and smiles so Velasquez waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Andy Chick's cut is getting worse.
A head kick misses from Chick.
Chick cracks Velasquez with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Chick throws the left hand but Velasquez avoids the punch easily.
Velasquez avoids the head kick by Chick.
Chick swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Chick gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Velasquez gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Chick is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Juan Velasquez!
During a confident post fight interview, Juan Velasquez thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
