The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gomez shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gano manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Gomez passes into half guard.

Gomez seems to be working for a kimura but Gano defends the submission attempt.

Gano is refusing to be controlled, as Gomez sits in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gano is looking for a sweep. Gomez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
