Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Denny Dixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Denny Dixon is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jon Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Denny Dixon!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Peter Branson and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice cross by Dixon.

Oooooh!!! Dixon has knocked Jones down with a huge combo! Dixon steps away and waves a wobbly Jones back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


Jones is rocked!

Dixon fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jones, pushing him back against the cage.
Oh Jones is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Jones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dixon attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Jones seems to have got his legs back now.
Dixon shoots in looking for a takedown but Jones manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dixon's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jones misses with some punches.
Dixon looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Dixon has Jones pressed against the cage, preventing Jones from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

Jones shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dixon defends it nicely.

Dixon looks to land a combination. Jones sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Jones tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dixon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jones somewhat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jones shoots in and drives through. Dixon sprawls well.

Dixon lands a really nice looking cross but Jones seems unphased.
Dixon throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dixon gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Jones.

Denny Dixon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
