PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Cake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Big Guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Big Guy has chosen riz ortolani - oh my love (feat. katyna ranieri). as his entrance music. Mario Big Guy will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jake Cake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mario Big Guy!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Dirk Anderson and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cake pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Cake displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.


It looks like Mario Big Guy has been cut.

Big Guy closes the distance and clinches.
Big Guy has Cake pressed against the cage.

Big Guy is fighting off a takedown attempt but Cake is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Big Guy to the mat. Big Guy regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

My spies in Evolution MMA inform me that Big Guy has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Cake is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Big Guy is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Big Guy has his foot on Cake's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cake works his way back into a safe position though.
Cake is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Cake has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Big Guy can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mario Big Guy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
