Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mickey Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bruce Norris has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Mickey Evans's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mickey Evans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bruce Norris!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Norris swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Norris feints a jab promting Evans to slip. Norris then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Evans slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Norris throws a head kick that misses

and Evans counters by moving into the clinch.

Evans breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Norris throws a leg kick which misses Evans's front leg but catches the back leg as Evans tries to avoid it.
Evans takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.


It looks like Mickey Evans has been cut.
Bruce Norris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Norris fails to land with a series of punches.
Norris throws a lazy head kick

and Evans counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Evans creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

and Evans counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Evans has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Evans connects with a nice short shot to Norris's temple.

Evans is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Evans stays in close to Norris's body and controls the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Evans keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Norris's head.
Evans slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Evans's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Evans drops back looking for a leg! Norris is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Norris manages to kick Evans off! Evans jumps back into Norris's guard.

Evans has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Norris.

Evans darts in and clinches Norris up against the cage.
Norris has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
