The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas fails with the takedown.
Thomas slips a jab from Mill.
Thomas looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Thomas looks for a takedown but Mill sprawls well.
Mill throws a body shot but no joy.
Mill looks to throw the jab but Thomas is out of range.
Thomas shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sam Thomas. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mill misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Thomas.

Mill closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Mill scores with a shoulder strike.
Thomas jumps guard but Mill turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mill throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Thomas is breathing heavily.
Mill lands an uppercut.
A nice right hand lands inside from Mill.

Thomas is rocked!
A short body shot lands from Mill as the two fighters clinch.
Oh Thomas is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Mill creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mill lands a nice shot to the body.

Mill drops Thomas onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Thomas is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!

Mill dips a shoulder and cracks Thomas with a mighty uppercut! Thomas falls back against the cage and Mill unloads with a barrage of strikes! Thomas is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Mill screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Mike Mill was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
