Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wilhelm Strauss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arthur Shawcross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arthur Shawcross will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strauss misses with a few strikes there.

Shawcross thuds his right hand into Strauss's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Strauss looks to land a body kick but Shawcross moved away.
Shawcross connects with a good right hand that stumbles Strauss. Strauss circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

enabling Shawcross to counter with a crisp jab.

Shawcross has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

Shawcross sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Strauss is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Strauss connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Strauss lands a left and a right that send Shawcross crashing to the mat, dazed. Strauss thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Shawcross cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Strauss steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Shawcross.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wilhelm Strauss dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Strauss comes in over the top with a devastating right hand! Shawcross stumbles back against the cage, looking to regain his senses but Strauss is on him like rabid pit bull! Shawcross slumps to the ground under a storm of punches and this fight is over!
