The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mikalika moves in looking to clinch but Penn pushes him off.

Penn jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Mikalika is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Mikalika and Penn has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Penn is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mikalika is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Penn creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Mikalika sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Penn thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Penn looks gassed!
Penn wants to control but Mikalika is keeping him busy.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Mikalika is trying to get back to his feet but Penn has full control of the position and if anything, Mikalika has just worked his way into a worse spot.
