PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Solid Snake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Draganov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Draganov comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The Cranberries - Zombies kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snake moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Snake goes for a double leg but Draganov avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Draganov continues to drive forward.
Draganov misses with an uppercut.
Ivan Draganov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Draganov is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Draganov cracks Snake with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Draganov drops his hands momentarily and Snake takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Snake slips a jab and a cross from Draganov.
Snake lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Draganov circles away quickly and effectively.
Snake moves out of range of the strikes.
Snake tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Draganov manages to circle out of the way.
Draganov throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
We've been hearing reports that Snake has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Draganov fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Snake manages to avoid it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Snake throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Draganov was covering up waiting for the punch and Snake finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Draganov is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Snake.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Snake tries to score a power double leg takedown but Draganov sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Snake somewhat.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Draganov's coach down at was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Draganov's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Draganov might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Draganov is desperately trying to improve his position but Snake has a good base and remains in mount.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Draganov wants to control but Snake is having none of it.
Draganov wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Snake.
Snake cracks Draganov with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Solid Snake dominated that second round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Solid Snake overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Snake looks up at the clock and then as Draganov takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Snake smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Draganov is looking to regain half guard here but Snake keeps moving and retains side control.

Draganov tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Snake wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Snake is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Draganov will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Snake is looking to take a break and control but Draganov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Snake throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Draganov works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
