The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bowen is looking to clinch.

Bowen feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Townsend sprawling to the canvas! Townsend rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Bowen finish him?!

It looks like Marshall Townsend has been cut.
Bowen takes one to the chin there.

It looks like Makebono Bowen has been cut.
Bowen tries to clinch up.
Townsend misses with a hook.

Bowen rushes Townsend and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Bowen's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Townsend keeps the fight on the outside.
Bowen tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Townsend manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Bowen keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Makebono Bowen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Townsend pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Bowen tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Townsend manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Bowen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Townsend is keeping his hands low and just asking to be knocked out. Bowen Raises his leg and lands a stunning axe kick! Townsend is out cold, face down on the mat!
