The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Officer dives in and scores a takedown into Hightower's guard.
Officer wants to pass the guard but Hightower is keeping the position.
Hightower looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Hightower has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Hightower is looking for a triangle here but Officer uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Officer is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Hightower's shoulder. That is not cool.
Hightower prevents Officer from moving into mount.
Officer trying to control the position but Hightower is working away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hightower is trying to improve his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hightower gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Hightower is trying to escape the mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hightower tries to hold on but Officer postures up.
Officer is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Hightower can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Hightower is trying to escape the mount.
Hightower is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Officer has taken his back.
Hightower tries to escape but Officer has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hightower is working hard here to advance position.
Officer is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Hightower won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Officer off his unconscious opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Police Officer!
Police Officer gave a mention to Humanoid Nutrition (160Q for 160$) in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
