Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eduardo Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Otso Koski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eduardo Alvarez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Otso Koski!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Seu Braga and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Koski throws a body shot but no joy.
Alvarez moves away from the strike by Koski.
Koski tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Alvarez is able to avoid easily.

Alvarez goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Koski rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Alvarez's guard! Nice work there by Koski!

Koski stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Alvarez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Alvarez walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Alvarez fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

It looks like Eduardo Alvarez has been cut.
Alvarez feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Koskis jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Alvarez tries to bum rush Koski with a series of wild strikes but Koski uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Alvarez connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Koski blocks a jab.
Alvarez drops his hands momentarily and Koski takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Koski has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Alvarez checks a leg kick.

Koski throws an overhand right that lands on Alvarez's shoulder, as Alvarez tries to avoid the shot.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Alvarez takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Alvarez closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Koski did well to prevent Alvarez getting side control.

Koski is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Alvarez is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Koski to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

Koski takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Alvarez seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Koski takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Alvarez moves into the clinch.
With the fighters up against the cage, Koski throws an elbow but misses.

Alvarez turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Alvarez manages to end up in side control.

Alvarez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Koski knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

A close second round but Otso Koski will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Alvarez cracks Koski with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Otso Koski comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Koski winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
