The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Colin Fray and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch lands to the side of Overeem 's head but he takes it in his stride.
It looks like Alistar Overeem has been cut.
Ngomau darts in and clinches Overeem up against the cage.
Overeem's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Ngomau throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Overeem counters with a nice leg kick.
Ngomau misses with a double jab.
Overeem feints a counter leg kick.
Ngomau tries to clinch up
and Overeem counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Overeem was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Ngomau rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Overeem counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Ngomau lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Ngomau.
Ngomau stalks Overeem and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Overeem's face. Overeem staggers backwards, shaken.
Ngomau moves into range and connects with a jab.

and Ngomau takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Ngomau tries to grapple but his opponent circles
enabling Overeem to counter with a crisp jab.
Francis Ngomau's cut is getting worse.
Overeem is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Ngomau rather than just go for the knockout.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ngomau tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Overeem doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.

Ngomau wants to clinch
and Overeem counters with a beautiful right hand that knocks Ngomau out cold! What a finish! Overeem is going crazy, running around the mat, summersaulting off the corner posts and screaming into the cameras. Something tells me he's pretty happy!
