The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smalls blocks a head kick by Gapuz.
Gapuz fails with an attempt to clinch.
Gapuz tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Smalls misses with a looping left.
Gapuz takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Gapuz tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Smalls paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Gapuz shoots for a takedown but Smalls saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Gapuz looks gassed!
Smalls is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

It looks like Victor Tan Gapuz has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Smalls closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Smalls has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Gapuz defend it? Smalls steps over the head and cranks it - Gapuz is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Smalls!
