PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pari Jakh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dudley Arnett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arnett shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jakh as he jumps to the side.
Arnett uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jakh.
Dudley Arnett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jakh thuds his shin into the meat of Arnett's side.
Jakh tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Arnett paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Arnett looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Jakh wants to clinch up but Arnett keeps it at a distance.
Arnett tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Nice sprawl there from Arnett as Jakh shoots in.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Arnett tries for a kimura but Jakh is defending well.
Jakh takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Arnett is staying tight to Jakh's torso, preventing him from escaping.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Arnett has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Jakh doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Arnett counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Arnett.

Jakh tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Arnett smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pari Jakh. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Jakh misses with a few strikes there.

Arnett closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jakh's guard.
Jakh will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Jakh can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Arnett controls the pace.
Arnett lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Arnett is pushing down on Jakh's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jakh is fighting to maintain full guard but Arnett has managed to sneak the leg through.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Let's hope that Arnett has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Jakh is trying to reverse the position but instead Arnett has taken his back - oops!

Arnett has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Jakh is defending well but eventually Arnett manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Jakh has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
