Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Igor Kozlov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Emperlianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Igor Kozlov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fedor Emperlianenko!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emperlianenko comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Emperlianenko just misses with a punch to the body.
Kozlov moves in looking to clinch but Emperlianenko pushes him off.

Kozlov feints and as Emperlianenko raises his hands in defense, Kozlov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Emperlianenko is trying to control the position but Kozlov postures up.
Kozlov trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Kozlov won't allow Emperlianenko to sweep him here.
Kozlov not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Emperlianenko throws a lazy right hand but Kozlov sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Emperlianenko should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Kozlov tries to kick Emperlianenko off in order to stand up. Emperlianenko Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Emperlianenko connects with a nice short shot to Kozlov's temple.
Emperlianenko is nestled in close to Kozlov, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Emperlianenko wants to stand but Kozlov has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Emperlianenko is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Kozlov rather than just go for the knockout.

Kozlov closes the distance and clinches up with Emperlianenko, looking for a takedown. Kozlov pushes Emperlianenko against the cage but Emperlianenko circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Emperlianenko changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kozlov looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Kozlov is trying to strike from the bottom but Emperlianenko has passed into full mount.
Kozlov is desperately trying to improve his position but Emperlianenko has a good base and remains in mount.
Kozlov swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Kozlov is looking to get to half guard.
Kozlov is working hard here to advance position.
Emperlianenko lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kozlov is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

That was a close round but I would say that Igor Kozlov will probably get the nod.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
