PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pascal Aube (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuri Pavel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pavel gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Pavel makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Aube being controlled against the cage.
Pavel lands with a short shot to the head.
Pavel prevents a takedown attempt there.
Pavel looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Aube wants a takedown but no success here.
Pavel is pushing Aube up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Aube is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Pavel pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pascal Aube. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pavel lands on the inside with an uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pavel lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Aube or not.
A nice right hand lands inside from Pavel.
Pavel lands a right hand that snaps the head of Aube backwards.

Pavel is pressed up against the cage. Aube has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Pavel down to the mat. Pavel avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Aube shoots for a takedown but Pavel saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Aube takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Aube gets caught napping as Pavel dives in and scores a takedown. Aube manages to retain guard.
