The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Germundson blocks a jab.

Germundson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Cooke!
Cooke wants to control but Germundson postures up.
Germundson is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Cooke will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
You can see the frustration on Cooke's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Cooke is looking to regain half guard here but Germundson keeps moving and retains side control.

Cooke really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like Dexter Cooke has been cut.

Germundson closes the distance looking for a takedown. Cooke stuffs it but Germundson still has hold of him. Germundson picks Cooke up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Germundson slams Cooke to the floor and that's really hurt Cooke - he doesn't know where he is! Germundson throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!
