Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bailey Sanders!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phil Mahcock!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Igor Prikhodko and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanders dives in and grabs Mahcock's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mahcock pushes down on Sanders's head and hops out.
Mahcock doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Sanders looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Mahcock closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Mahcock content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Let's hope that Mahcock has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sanders wants to improve his position but Mahcock is controlling well.

Mahcock is looking for a kimura but Sanders is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mahcock to get the leverage.
Sanders is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

As Sanders backs off Mahcock throws a huge counter combo but Sanders manages to avoid it all.
Mahcock scoring well with a low kick there.
Mahcock throws a lazy right hand but Sanders sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mahcock is defended easily by Sanders.

Mahcock has taken the fight to the clinch.

Sanders gets underhooks to prevent Mahcock's takedown attempt.

Mahcock stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Mahcock breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sanders swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A big right from Mahcock misses.
A combination from Mahcock does no damage.
Sanders attempts a counter takedown but Mahcock avoids it well and moves away.

Sanders pushes Mahcock up against the cage in a clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Sanders breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Mahcock stuffs the takedown attempt from Sanders. Sanders gets slowly back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sanders is trying to drag Mahcock to the mat but Mahcock just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Mahcock has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sanders uses from the top position.

Mahcock is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Phil Mahcock showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Mahcock scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
