PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dale Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Duggan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duggan has chosen Five Finger Death Punch- Bad Company as his entrance music. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 1, fighting out of New York, Dale Rogers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jim Duggan!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Jonathan Paton and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Rogers throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Rogers misses with a hook.
Rogers misses with an attempted mid kick.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Duggan! But no joy.
Rogers cracks Duggan with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Rogers takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Duggan checks a low kick from Rogers.
Duggan displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rogers throws out the jab.
A jab from Duggan does it's job there.


It looks like Dale Rogers has been cut.
Rogers lets loose with a powerful body kick. Duggan will feel that in the morning.
Duggan avoids a kick to the body.
Duggan lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Duggan misses with a low kick.
Rogers connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Duggan's hands.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rogers motions for Duggan to come forward. Rogers throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Duggan scores with a sloppy right hand. Rogers should have avoided that one.
Duggan jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Rogers will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Duggan has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Both fighters circling a little - Rogers finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rogers throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
As Rogers backs off Duggan throws a huge counter combo but Rogers manages to avoid it all.
Rogers has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Rogers there as he acknowledges the shot.
Rogers tries to clinch there but Duggan circles away.
Duggan moves out of range as Rogers throws a body kick.
Rogers lands a jab to Duggan's midsection.
Rogers lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Rogers throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Duggan connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Rogers takes a swing at Duggan's ribcage but misses.
Rogers pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Dale Rogers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rogers throws a leg kick

and Duggan counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Duggan is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rogers wants to sweep but Duggan has passed to side control!
Rogers is trying to control Duggan's posture but Duggan avoids it.
Rogers is trying to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rogers is working hard here to advance position.
Duggan gets to mount! Rogers was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
The referee warns Rogers that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Rogers is looking to improve his position but Duggan isn't that keen on the idea.
Duggan landing strikes from the mount and Rogers is in trouble!
Duggan trying to control but Rogers is having none of it.
Rogers is in all sorts of trouble here.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Dale Rogers's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Jim Duggan!
A very excited looking Jim Duggan made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
