The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bix misses with a shot to the body
and Jack counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Jack drops back, looking for a kneebar! Bix looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Bix looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Bix!
Jack is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Bix's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Bix takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Jack looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jack is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bix pulls his head out easily.
Bix seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jack does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bix engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Bix is posturing up here but Jack has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Bix tries to roll out but it's too tight and Bix has to tap! Slick submission there by Jack!
