PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Renato Robles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Conor Macgrager (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Conor Macgrager told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Macgrager rushes Robles and presses him up against the cage.
Robles wants to get back to striking at distance but Macgrager won't allow it.

It looks like Renato Robles has been cut.

Robles is looking to control Macgrager's arms but Macgrager gets an underhook and turns him. Now Robles has his back to the cage.
Robles jumps guard but Macgrager stands there with Robles around his waist. Robles gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Macgrager thows a huge punch but Robles dodges it nicely.

Macgrager tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Robles paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A clash of legs there as Robles blocks the low kick.
Robles will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Renato Robles. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Robles checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Robles stuffs the takedown attempt from Macgrager. Macgrager gets slowly back to his feet.

Macgrager gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Macgrager comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fight stays on the outside here - Macgrager looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
