The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sinclair pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Sinclair tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Malendez paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Malendez shoots in looking for a takedown. Sinclair tries to sprawl out of it but Malendez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sinclair manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Malendez takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Sinclair has managed to clinch.

Malendez trying to control the position but instead, Sinclair has worked for underhooks and has pushed Malendez into the cage.
Sinclair creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Malendez is trying to drag Sinclair to the mat but Sinclair just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Sinclair shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Sinclair was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Malendez wants to control but Sinclair is having none of it.

Sinclair wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Malendez manages to pass to side control.

Malendez is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sinclair is just riding it out for now. Malendez eventually gives up the hold.

Sinclair regains half guard.

Malendez is working for a kimura but Sinclair is defending it quite comfortably.

Malendez prevents Sinclair from standing back up.

Malendez throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Sinclair is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Malendez pulls his head out easily.
Malendez looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sinclair with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
