Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lon Hogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Niko White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lon Hogan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Niko White!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

White closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hogan did well to prevent White getting side control.

Hogan makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

White takes the fight into the clinch.

White pulls guard successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hogan throwing strikes but missing.
Hogan is looking to work some ground and pound but White has wrist control.
Hogan throws an elbow that misses. White uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hogan's guard. Nice move by White!

White must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Hogan could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

White thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Hogan throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Hogan controls White momentarily but White frees himself.
White controls from within his opponent's guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Hogan is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and White defends well.

Hogan wants to get back to his feet but White is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

White makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Hogan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in White's guard.

White is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hogan is aware though and is defending well.

White scrambles and gets back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Hogan goes for a takedown in the clinch but White prevents it.
White wants to get back to striking at distance but Hogan won't allow it.

Crunch! Hogan slams his shin into White's torso.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A head punch blocked on the inside by White.
Hogan is trying to work for a single leg takedown but White pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Hogan jumps guard but White stands there with Hogan around his waist. Hogan gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lon Hogan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
White tries to circle away but Hogan has him pinned against the cage.

Hogan has had enough of the clinch but White keeps him there for the moment.
White is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Hogan is defending well for now.
White is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Hogan is keeping busy.

Hogan manages to pull guard.
Hogan throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Hogan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
White is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Let's hope that White has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
White really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hogan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

White stands up.

Hogan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Niko White showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

White feints and as Hogan raises his hands in defense, White changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
White controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if White can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

White is looking for a kimura but Hogan is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for White to get the leverage.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. White lands a nice short elbow.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Niko White comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well White has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
