Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jido Shoemaker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Evan Cole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shoemaker shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cole defends it nicely.
Shoemaker throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cole's waist but Cole gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shoemaker off to one side.
Cole swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Cole lands a jab to the head.

No joy there for Cole, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Shoemaker was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Cole cracks Shoemaker with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Shoemaker shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jido Shoemaker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cole scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
A looping hook to the body misses from Cole. Shoemaker does a little dance to reset his feet.
Cole connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Shoemaker's hands.

Shoemaker shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Cole sprawls well. Cole wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Shoemaker gets slowly back to his feet.

Shoemaker goes for a double leg but Cole avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Cole continues to drive forward.

Cole looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Evan Cole is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Cole tries to close the distance and clinch but Shoemaker swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Shoemaker shoots for a double leg takedown but Cole sprawls well. He's pushed Shoemaker's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Shoemaker misses with a takedown attempt - Cole sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Cole lands a right hook to the body.

Shoemaker takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Shoemaker fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Cole lands a big right hand that sends Shoemaker crashing to the mat! Cole stays standing though and waves Shoemaker back to his feet!

Shoemaker is rocked!
Shoemaker gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Cole points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Shoemaker wakes up just in time to hear Cole thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
