Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arnold Simbecka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arnold Simbecka will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jimmy Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Arnold Simbecka!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz looks for a takedown but Simbecka sprawls well.

Diaz ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Diaz no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Simbecka slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Diaz wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

I think Simbecka has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
