Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rick Cartside (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gaylord Focker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rick Cartside!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gaylord Focker!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Bruno Hogan and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cartside closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Focker is trying to improve his position.
Cartside trying to control the position but Focker is working away.

Cartside is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Focker is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Focker sneaks back into half guard.
Focker wants to get back to full guard.
Cartside wants to pass to mount but Focker is defending the position.

Focker looking for submissions off his back.
Cartside is thwarting Focker's attempts to control the position.
Cartside wants to pass the guard but Focker is defending well.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Focker tries to clinch but Cartside is having none of it.

Cartside fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Focker sprawls well initially but Cartside persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cartside manages to capitalize on a mistake by Focker to take his back!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Focker throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cartside works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Focker can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cartside controls the pace.

Focker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cartside gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Focker has his foot on Cartside's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cartside works his way back into a safe position though.

Focker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cartside gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's time! Cartside's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Cartside shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Cartside was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Focker bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Focker trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Focker is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cartside has his hands on Focker's head, controlling the position.
Cartside is trying to control the position but Focker postures up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Focker gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Cartside counters with a shoot takedown. Focker fights it but they end up in guard.

Cartside wants to control from the top but Focker keeps moving.
Focker looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cartside is one step ahead there.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Cartside looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Focker!
Cartside takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Cartside wants to control the pace but Focker is squirming around nicely.
Focker tries to hold on but Cartside postures up.
Focker is looking to get to half guard.
Cartside tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Cartside jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Focker manages to avoid the submission attempt.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Cartside feints and as Focker raises his hands in defense, Cartside changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Focker has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Cartside should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Focker has tightened it up now! Cartside should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
