Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Darryl Fitzpatrick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Leonardo Song!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yuuki Gou and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fitzpatrick moves out of range as Song throws a body kick.
Song takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Song misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Song throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fitzpatrick's waist but Fitzpatrick gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Song off to one side.
No joy there for Song, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Fitzpatrick seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
A jab from Fitzpatrick finds it's way through Song's defenses.
Song misses with a combination
and Fitzpatrick counters with a straight right hand.
Song has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Fitzpatrick.
Song looks winded!
Fitzpatrick scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Song doesn't seem bothered though.
Song stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Fitzpatrick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Song drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Song is rocked!
Song on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick obviously looking to wear him down.
Song is still on wobbly legs! Can Fitzpatrick finish him?
Fitzpatrick batters Song with a massive right followed by a huge left! Song is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Fitzpatrick lands a final crushing right hand to drop Song to the mat with a gruesome thud! Fitzpatrick is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Darryl Fitzpatrick!
