Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Apple swats away the attempt to clinch by Blue.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Apple wants to get back to his feet but Blue is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Blue takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Blue feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Apple really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Blue. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Blue wants to lay and pray for a moment but Apple keeps working.

Blue is taking a breather. Apple says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Apple has given up his back. Will we see Blue going for some submissions?

Apple throws a predictable looking body shot
and Blue counters with a one-two to the body.
Blue shoots for a takedown but Apple saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Blue closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Apple takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Blue scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Apple to see if he's OK.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Blue is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Apple is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Apple is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Blue gets his way!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Blue has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Apple! Can he survive? No! He's out! Blue gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
