The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nasser is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Uzo throws a hook but Nasser blocks it.

letting Uzo counter with a right hand.
Uzo tries to work over Nasser's front leg with a kick but Nasser checks it.
Nasser tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Uzo lands with a good body shot.
Nasser moves in looking to clinch but Uzo pushes him off.
Nasser shoots for a double leg takedown but Uzo sprawls well. He's pushed Nasser's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Nasser lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Uzo circles away quickly and effectively.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nasser tries to clinch up but Uzo circles away and keeps his distance.

Uzo has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
Uzo lands a jab to Nasser's midsection.

Uzo lands with a nice body punch.
Nasser takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Uzo changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Uzo scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Uzo lands a big head kick that sends Nasser tumbling to the mat! Uzo takes a step backwards and waves Nasser back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Uzo with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Oh Nasser is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Uzo weaves into range and cracks Nasser right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Nasser goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Uzo is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jay Uzo!
In his post fight interview, Jay Uzo started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
The defeated Akram Nasser had this to say: 'sick of lose'.
