PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between craig parsons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Koi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Koi has chosen Cross Out the Eyes as his entrance music. craig parsons is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, craig parsons!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rob Koi!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Koi or perhaps it was just good defense by parsons which made him look bad.
Koi takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Koi.

parsons shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Koi working for a triangle but parsons defends it easily.
parsons is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
parsons could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Koi is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Koi had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. parsons is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Koi Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take parsons's back instead.

parsons wants to escape the position but for the time being he's just trying to control the pace.
parsons manages to reverse the position and now he's in Koi's guard. Nice work there by parsons.
parsons stays in close to Koi's body and controls the position.

Koi is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
parsons slips nicely into half guard.

parsons perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The referee stands the fighters back up. craig parsons just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
parsons scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

parsons clinches up with Koi and pushes him back against the cage.

parsons seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

parsons shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
parsons slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with parsons in particular looking to stall.

Koi with a poor takedown

and parsons counters with a shoot takedown. Koi fights it but they end up in guard.

parsons stands and steps away. Koi gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

and parsons counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Koi is lucky that one didn't land flush.

craig parsons has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rob Koi.

Koi tries to hold on but parsons pushes him away.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

parsons has hold of Koi's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Koi manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Koi is trying to maintain the position but parsons is very close to passing his half guard.

and parsons counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Koi's guard now.
parsons wants to control from the top but Koi keeps moving.
Koi is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

parsons sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Koi's guard.
parsons is thwarting Koi's attempts to control the position.

Rob Koi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
