Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Agustin Benitez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, George Kambosos Jr!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Albert Achterberg and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Benitez takes the fight into the clinch.

Benitez is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Kambosos Jr can't fight it off and eventually Benitez manages to take the fight to the floor. Kambosos Jr looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Benitez seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Horrible takedown attempt by Benitez or perhaps it was just good defense by Kambosos Jr, which made it look bad.
Benitez is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kambosos Jr can do to turn this around?

and Kambosos Jr counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Benitez tries to clinch but Kambosos Jr moves out of range.

Benitez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kambosos Jr is fending him off so far but Benitez persists. Nope, Kambosos Jr circles away and we're back to standing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Good leg kick by Kambosos Jr there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Kambosos Jr seems a little lost for a moment, as Benitez dominates the positioning.

The referee asks Benitez politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Benitez prefers to stall for the moment though.

Benitez not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Kambosos Jr really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Benitez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Benitez lands a couple of digs.
Benitez stands and throws Kambosos Jr's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kambosos Jr seems a little lost for a moment, as Benitez dominates the positioning.

Benitez has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but George Kambosos Jr will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Benitez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kambosos Jr sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Benitez somewhat.
Kambosos Jr appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Benitez.
Kambosos Jr throws a series of punches but Benitez avoids them all with ease.

Benitez's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Benitez takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
