The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Thiago Cunha and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sabonis bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps St Regis 's head backwards.
Sabonis connects with an inside leg kick.
Sabonis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sabonis tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
St Regis tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Sabonis throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
St Regis shoots in but Sabonis avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Sabonis explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Sabonis moves into range and clinches up with St Regis .
Sabonis working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Sabonis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sabonis connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sabonis closes the distance and lands a one-two.
St Regis shoots in looking for a takedown. Sabonis tries to sprawl out of it but St Regis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sabonis manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Sabonis looks like he wants to counter punch here.

A nice leg kick lands there from Sabonis.

No luck with that takedown attempt from St Regis .
Sabonis feints a counter leg kick.

St Regis misses with a takedown attempt - Sabonis sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Sabonis throws a series of strikes that have St Regis backpedaling.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sabonis connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed St Regis momentarily.

Sabonis has clasped his hands together around St Regis 's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
St Regis gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
St Regis is breathing heavily.
Sabonis slows the pace down in half guard.
Sabonis's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

St Regis throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Sabonis works his way into full mount!
Sabonis wants to finish this one by submission but St Regis is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Sabonis.
Sabonis takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
St Regis throws a strike from the bottom but Sabonis uses the opportunity to take his back.

Sabonis has got one arm under St Regis 's chin. This could be trouble... St Regis trying to control the other hand but Sabonis gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, St Regis has tapped out! The fight is over!

Arvydas Sabonis spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
