The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - De Villiers looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Pfeifer throws a right and a left that De Villiers avoids nicely.
Pfeifer connects with a jab.
De Villiers connects with a high kick.
De Villiers throws a right hand that Pfeifer ducks under and follows up with a left that Pfeifer also avoids with ease.

Pfeifer moves into the clinch successfully.

Pfeifer breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Pfeifer clinches.
Pfeifer landing knees to the head.


It looks like Micheal De Villiers has been cut.
Pfeifer keeps control of De Villiers as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Pfeifer obliges.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Pfeifer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
De Villiers tries to clinch but Pfeifer is having none of it.
As De Villiers looks to move away, Pfeifer throws a big counter combo but De Villiers just gets out of the way.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from De Villiers.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pfeifer tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
De Villiers's coach down at Kung Fu Fighting Club ($299 entry fee) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on De Villiers's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

De Villiers takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Pfeifer tests De Villiers's chin there with a solid looking shot.
De Villiers pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Pfeifer darts in and clinches De Villiers up against the ropes.
Pfeifer lands with a left to the head.
Pfeifer lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Pfeifer working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Pfeifer breaks the clinch.
Pfeifer checks the leg kick nicely there.

A punch combination from Pfeifer misses.
De Villiers tries to counter by closing the distance.

Pfeifer drives through and clinches with De Villiers against the ropes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pfeifer lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Pfeifer.
De Villiers takes a shot to the head.

Pfeifer manages to break the clinch.
Pfeifer lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
De Villiers misses with a wild body shot.
De Villiers fails with an attempt to clinch.
Pfeifer misses with a few strikes there.
De Villiers wants to counter the offense by Pfeifer and move into the clinch position.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Pfeifer works over De Villiers's head and body with a nice combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ricardo Pfeifer dominated that round.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


De Villiers gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Pfeifer.
Pfeifer is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
De Villiers tries to clinch up
and Pfeifer counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

De Villiers swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Pfeifer makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Pfeifer lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Pfeifer throws a front kick to the face that drops De Villiers face first to the mat! Oh, he's in big trouble! He's stumbling all over the place and has face planted into the ropes, causing the referee to call an end to the fight! What a finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Front Kick). Ricardo Pfeifer!
