Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between CJ Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michel Therrien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Dirk Anderson and Winston Alpacca.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Therrien tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Penn defends well and Therrien ends up having to push Penn into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Penn keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Penn misses with an uppercut
and Therrien cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Penn misses with the combination.
Therrien is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Penn lands a really nice looking cross but Therrien seems unphased.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Penn keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
CJ Penn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michel Therrien.

Therrien fails with a takedown attempt.
Therrien uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Penn.
Therrien shoots in for a takedown but Penn shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
It looked like Penn was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
CJ Penn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Therrien changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Penn tries to avoid it but Therrien manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Penn to the ground. Penn escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Penn scores with a hook.
Therrien takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Therrien fails to land the takedown.

Penn lands a really nice looking cross but Therrien seems unphased.
Therrien tries to clinch but Penn is having none of it.
Penn is looking to counter punch.
Good exchange - Penn coming out on top.
Therrien doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Penn counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Therrien shoots in but no luck this time.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

letting Penn counter with a right hand.
Therrien looks winded!

Penn scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Penn slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Penn moves into range and connects with a jab.
Therrien looks to clinch
and Penn connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Therrien is rocked!
Penn drops Therrien with a naaaaasty hook - Therrien is in real trouble here! Penn dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
